Zak Tempelmeyer is a native of Syracuse, Nebraska and received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Nebraska and MD from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. He specializes in family medicine. Dr. Tempelmeyer joined the Medical Staff at Community Memorial Hospital in July 2004.

James Steckelberg, MD 

James Steckelberg is a native of Osmond, Nebraska and received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Nebraska and MD from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. He specializes in family medicine. Dr. Steckelberg joined the Medical Staff at Community Memorial Hospital in July 2005.

Melissa Tompkins, PA-C 

Melissa Tompkins is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of Nebraska and Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. She specializes in family medicine and is certified for DOT physical exams. Melissa joined the Medical Staff as a Physician Assistant at Community Memorial Hospital in January 2006.

Upon the resignation of Karen Bohaty APRN who had been the practicing provider at Weeping Water Medical Center (WWMC) since its opening in December 2008, Tompkins began her practice at WWMC located at 204 N Randolph in Weeping Water effective March 7, 2016.

Tompkins continues providing the care that patients have come to know and trust at WWMC.  Please call WWMC at 402-267-5330 to schedule your appointment for preventative care, DOT exam, or acute or chronic appointments with Tompkins.  James Steckelberg MD also provides care at WWMC.  In addition to Tompkins hours at WWMC, she is also available for her Syracuse patients on Thursdays.  Please contact SMC at 402-269-2411 for availability.


Chad Kelley PA-C, RN, EMT-P

Chad is married to wife, Candace. They have four children, twins Gage and Mya age 6, Cole age 5, & Jace age 4. On his days off, he enjoys time with his family and carpentry. His life in healthcare started when he became a First Responder & enlisted in the Army Reserve in high school. He is also a volunteer Firefighter & Paramedic for Murray Fire Department. He is a Captain in Army National Guard, with twenty years of service. He has held several positions in the military including a Convoy Commander in Iraq, Medical Platoon Sergeant, Drill Sergeant, Medical Service Officer, & Calvary Squadron Physician Assistant.

Sheryl McKim PA-C

Sherri is married to husband, Shawn.  They have one adult daughter, Amber, & two grandchildren, Annistasia & Sammy.  On days off, Sherri & her husband love to spend time with grandchildren, ski, & travel.  She also tries to attend a medical mission trip every few years.

Cindy Keckler APRN

Cindy is married to husband, Chad. They have two daughters, Lauren, 8, & Alexis, 4.  On days off, Cindy enjoys spending time with family, volunteering at her daughter’s school, & time at the lake.

Lindsey Abbott APRN

Lindsey Abbott APRN

Lindsey lives in Louisville with her husband, Brian, & children (nine year old Brady, 7-year-old Tucker, & 5-year-old Lucy).  She began her healthcare career working at the care center in Louisville (where she has lived most of her life).  She has a special interest & background in pediatrics & women’s health.  Lindsey sees patients of all ages at Syracuse Medical Center Monday-Thursday 7:30am-7pm & Friday 7:30am-5pm.
