Class Descriptions

WATER STRENGTH & TONING
With the use of cuffs and hand buoys you will tone, strengthen, build endurance, develop coordination and increase flexibility.  Water provides an excellent environment for exercise with buoyancy and resistance.  The non-weight bearing property of water reduces stress on the body.  Swimming skills are not needed to participate in this class.

WATER ARTHRITIS

This one-hour class is designed for people with mild to moderate arthritis, bursitis, knee problems, muscle or joint stiffness, high blood pressure, or diabetes. The participants take advantage of the buoyancy properties of the water for support and flexibility.

WAKE – UP CARDIO 
This 45 minute class is formatted to include a variety of cardio segments, strength training segments, cool down and stretch.  A great way to jump-start your day!

BOOT CAMP CLASS
Are you ready to enlist?  This 45-minute class includes high-intensity cardio and strength exercises to challenge your strength and endurance while burning lots of calories.  This workout moves quickly with little or no rest between exercises.  Core stability is included along with a cool down/stretch to end this dynamic workout.

SilverSneakers® MUSCULAR STRENGTH & RANGE OF MOVEMENT
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills.  Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with  handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

CHAIR YOGA
This half-hour class is designed in the style of “Hatha Vinyasa” which is based on the movement of breath.  This yoga format is presented in a gentle and calming manner seated in a chair the entire time.  It is designed for a participant to attend the class at any time.

AB-SOLUTION
This 30-minute class focuses strictly on strengthening the core muscles.  This targeted workout will tighten, tone and firm you entire mid-section with effective and safe techniques.

CARDIO-MIX
This one-hour class offers low impact moves, but high intensity to raise your heart rate and burn those calories. This complete workout includes a warm-up, a cardio section which could be a step segment or an interval segment or low impact choreography, followed with a cool down and floor work, ending with stretches.

AQUA MIX
This 45-minute class offers an excellent workout in the water that includes upper/ lower body toning and/or aerobic heart conditioning that has no impact on joints.  You may not be able to jog on land, but you can in water! Let’s get WET ‘N WILD!

PRIME TIME
This 30-minute class immediately precedes the Power Pump Class and offers a low-impact but high intensity cardio workout with a post-stretch at the end.

POWER P.U.M.P.
(Promoting Unlimited Muscle Potential)
This 55 minute class is for anyone who is looking to strength-train, trim and tone, and sculpt the muscles.  This workout targets upper and lower body muscle groups and core muscles. Hand weights of your choice from 5 lbs. to 15 lbs., stability ball, tubing, dynabands or weighted bars may be used and includes a warm-up to begin the class and a stretch at the end for an overall effect toward raising your metabolism and gaining strength and definition.  Remember, the more lean muscle tissue you have, the more fat you burn, even when you are at rest.
